According to recent article published by MLIVE the water levels in the Great Lakes have dropped about one foot from last year. However one of the reasons for this drop is the lack of precipitation. According to the US Drought Monitor the entire lower peninsula of Michigan is in a moderate drought. Thus with the good—we have a beach this year—comes the bad—fire danger and dusty roads. Please drive slowly on our roads. Please be very careful if you choose to build a fire in the fire pit at your cottage.
The Annual Meeting of the CSA will be held at the Benona Township Hall on Saturday, July 10th, at 10 AM. Persons interested in running for a position on the Board of Trustees are asked to submit a brief biographical statement via the Contact Us form on the CSA website or by replying to this email.
Since the Annual Meeting Newsletter must be in the hands of the members at a minimum of 30 days prior to the meeting; AND time is needed to complete the editorial process to prepare the Annual Meeting Newsletter; AND the board needs time to have copies made, envelopes stuffed, and the packet mailed; the deadline to submit the bio/indicate candidacy is May 10th. The terms of the following incumbent trustees expire this year and each is running for another 3 year term (2021-2024): • Rich Campbell • Dennis McKelley • William Rafaill In addition, Tim Pieri was appointed to fulfill the unexpired term of Tim Huls. Per our By-Laws Trustees appointed to the board to fulfill a term must stand for election at the next Annual Meeting (see the Vacancies section of Article 8). Thus Tim Pieri is standing for election to serve the remainder of what was Tim Huls’ term, that is through 2023. If you wish to stand for a position on the board besides submitting a statement as noted above please also indicate whether you wish to run for a full term (the Campbell, McKelley, Rafaill positions) or for the partial term (Pieri position). |
